VOV30

Qaqortoq

We anchored in the bay by time breakfast was ready and we tendered in at 9:00 AM. Qaqortoq is a charming little village inhabited mainly by Innuit and some Danish. We basically just wandered about the village marvelling at the sculpture and art work carved into the rock and the artwork displayed in the 2 local museums. There were also tables set up by the pier with local crafts and DW bought an intricate collar that she can use as a necklace.

We were also entertained by the local pod of Minke whales that were feeding in the harbour and were awed by some of the large icebergs that we passed  as we left the port just after lunch.

Tomorrow is a sea day
